San Francisco and Bay Area Regional Chapter
Founding Chapter:
The San Francisco chapter is one of the founding chapters of BioLink USA-Ireland. Given the proximity to Silicon Valley, the San Francisco chapter has a diverse group of scientists and engineers working in the local bioscience sector and allied industries, spanning the areas of Diagnostics, Biotech, Medical Devices, Nanotech and Cleantechnology.
Biolink Conference in San Francisco - 2004
In June 2004, six months following the inaugural event, the SF chapter hosted the 2nd Biolink Conference at the prestigious Nob Hill Fairmont Hotel. The conference was held to coincide with the BIO 2004 conference in San Francisco, and was well attended. Through this conference, many Irish Bio-entrepreneurs made good connections with local scientists and engineers, and had successful follow-up meetings with them. Collaborations born from this event are continuing on an ongoing basis.
The San Francisco Chapter prides itself on hosting high calibre speakers, encouraging interactive discussions, and spearheading local initiatives to foster networking and the creation of new relationships. One of our aims is to facilitate the convergence of technologies by bringing together scientists from all disciplines forging new collaborations and innovations!
